Naw-Rúz - The Bahá'í New Year

A Joyous Naw-Ruz!!!!

We want to wish Bahá’ís around the world a joyous Naw-Rúz celebration. May this year bring you joy, peace, and growth.

Naw-Rúz marks the end of the Bahá’í month of fasting. During those 19 days, Bahá’ís fast from sunrise to sunset as an outward symbol of their inward fast. Bahá’u’lláh describes it as:

“This material fast is an outer token of the spiritual fast; it is a symbol of self-restraint, the withholding of oneself from all appetites of the self, taking on the characteristics of the spirit, being carried away by the breathings of heaven and catching fire from the love of God.”
