Background vocal arrangements by Walter Heath and Jamey Heath, except on '`Abdu'l-Bahá, and Shoghi Effendi'. With much gratitude to the many people who have encouraged me to record a devotional CD over the years, I offer this work of love, which includes songs newly recorded and some old favorites scattered about on various compilation CDs. With great honor, I include two songs from the Lote Tree Album, '`Abdu'l-Bahá and Shoghi Effendi', which features narration by Hand of the Cause of God, William Sears. Inspired by the Sacred Writings of the Bahá'i Faith, whose purpose is to unite all the races and peoples in one universal Cause and one common Faith, these songs are one way I try to be of service to mankind. Bahá'u'lláh, who Bahá'is believe is the manifestation of God for today, says the Word of God when set to music, can be a ladder for one's soul in its quest to be closer to God. I hope and pray that my contribution helps achieve that goal in some small way. Acknowledging the people who have been instrumental in completing this CD has to begin with my wife, Barbara. She is indeed the advance guard in our fortress of well-being, our marriage. Her loving support in all things Heath family is highly praised and greatly appreciated. I love her dearly. Next is my oldest son Jamey, who is such an incredibly talented musician, producer, arranger, and composer, I sometimes am in awe. He was crucial in helping to bring life to my songs with his talent, his dedication and hard work, and his love. To Sean Gilmer, my son- in law, and Michael Marchesano, both talented musicians, thanks for helping me see the possibilities with your valuable input; to Luis Lizarraga, my brother-in-law, for taking a great photo so many years ago; to Gloria Abrar, a very gifted graphics artist who designed, with much sensitivity and thoughtfulness, the artwork for this CD; to Jimmy Seals and Dash Crofts, for writing Year of Sunday, a powerful song about the oneness of Religion ( I hope you approve); to Marcia Day, who championed and loved me fully; and in memory of Sid Bulkin, a wonderful and caring mentor. Lastly, to my parents, Gertrude (96 years old) and Rev. Rodger Heath (deceased), who gave me and my brothers and sisters the gift of music, and the sense to use it to uplift hearts and souls in praise of God, and hopefully for the betterment of mankind.
