Shohreh Haghiri

Shohreh Haghiri was born in Shiraz, Iran and her ability to sing was inherited from her mother. In her early childhood she began singing, especially spiritual songs. At first she was interested in folk music of her native province, Fars and other regions of Iran. Later, she began studying traditional classical music ( Radif ) with masters of her time such as Asghar Vafaei, Parisa and Hamidreza Noorbakhash. Later, while in college, she had the opportunity to study harmony, the history of music and music theory.

Shohreh had a wonderful opportunity to learn some of the Maghami music. Her meeting with Ostad Ghorbanali Soleimani and Asghar Javanmardi from North of Khorasan and Ostad Osman from south of Khorasan had a crucial effect on her musical life. Shohreh studied Architecture in the University of Iran. In addition to working at her main job of designing, she has also taught vocal music for almost 25 years.She left Iran in 2003. She has given several concert performances in Iran, Turkey , US and Canada
