Bahareh Khademi

Bahareh Khademi
Born to Persian parents, Bahareh was brought up with a rich tapestry of cultural influences. To this day, these have inspired her mystically, philosophically and musically.

Fortunate to have been raised in Australia, Bahareh doesn't take for granted the freedoms here that wouldn't be available to her in her parents' homeland - among them, the right to free speech and to education.

Bahareh first discovered her passion for music at age 16 when she auditioned for the school musical 'Les Miserables'. Singing in the chorus, she fell in love with the songs and, more significantly, with the potential that music has to ignite the heart of others. The following year she auditioned successfully for the lead role of Maria in 'West Side Story' - this proved to be a watershed moment because her parents realised she was a gifted vocalist and encouraged her to pursue singing further.

After graduating high school, Bahareh was accepted into the Bachelor of Creative Arts degree majoring in Drama and Classical Voice at the University of Wollongong. Here she developed her craft, developing her stage presence and honing her voice. At Wollongong - Bahareh's talent was nurtured under some of Australia's leading theatre and vocal professionals.

In her graduating year Bahareh was cast as the lead performer in a new opera ' Wounding Song', written by Jeff Galea, the first opera written to highlight the guitar. That year, Bahareh was additionally awarded the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music Vocal Scholarship to further develop her craft.

Upon being awarded her Bachelor Degree, and Scholarship, Bahareh decided to pursue further her vocal training and to develop herself as an opera singer. Auditioning at The Conservatoriums of Music in Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane - she was accepted into all three programs, but had to decline because of the ill health after years of intense study and training.

Instead, she took time off to discern her path forward. She traveled to places as diverse as Israel, Italy and around Australia, spending considerable time in Adelaide. After two years dabbling in volunteering, teaching, retail and corporate work, Bahareh's heard was calling her back home to Sydney and back to music.

In 2012, she returned to Sydney to pursue singing professionally and was again accepted to study at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Unfortunately she again turned down the opportunity, thus time to spend precious time with her ailing grandparents during their final months on earth. Dedicating herself to her grandparents' memory, Bahareh decided to lead a life by her design and focus on her music.

Paving this new path, Bahareh began working on the music she wrote a few years earlier - - songs from The Baha'i Writings, the very words that assisted her through the challenging and joyous periods during her life.

Currently residing in Sydney, Bahareh is in the process of finalising her first CD Immerse, a devotional / meditation CD. She has also released two singles via YouTube and is in the process of planning her subsequent tour.

Bahareh performs around Sydney and Australia at Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Communions, Funerals, Devotional Meetings and Community Events.
